Gerard Bianco is first and foremost an artist,
passionate about beauty, art, and design. He has been
designing and creating jewelry for over forty years and
his vision is that of an artist, as you can see when you
visit Porte 4 in Portland, Maine.
Gerard studied painting and design at the Art Students
League, the School of Visual Arts, and Parsons School of
Design. His extraordinary portrait painting and
illustrations have won clients in the entertainment
industry and in big business, (Sandra Carter Productions
and Merrill Lynch, to name just two). He has received
commissions from the United States Navy, and his portrait
of Captain Eugene ‘Red’ McDaniel hangs in the museum of
the United States Naval Archives in Washington, D.C. He
has been represented by Grand Central Art Galleries in
Manhattan and has won numerous awards for his works,
which can be seen in many private and public collections.
In today’s culture of mass-produced, assembly-line
products, it’s refreshing to encounter an artist who
combines the Renaissance tradition of merging jewelry and
art. Gerard Bianco is a master at it. His jewelry
creations can be described as ‘uniquely simple’ with a
focus on strong composition—mixing line and design with
bold accents of color. These combinations result in a
styled, but wearable, piece of jewelry at a very
affordable price.
Gerard's other passions include writing.
His award-winning
mystery/thriller, The Deal Master, has just recently been
published. One reviewer said, "The Deal Master continued
to keep me guessing every step of the way to the grand
finale. This book is a thriller. A well written
Who-Done-It that kept my eyes glued to its 249 pages.
I thoroughly enjoyed The Deal Master from the first
page to the last. It had all the ingredients
that a good mystery novel should have and then some.”
